Test
MFR (Melt Flow Rate) (TS EN ISO 1133-1)
MFR is defined that rate of extrusion of a molten resin through a die of specified length and diameter under prescribed conditions of temperature, load and piston position in the barrel of an extrusion plastometer, the rate being determined as the mass extruded over a specified time. The unit is usually given in g/10 min. Basically, thermoplastic specimens (mainly in the form of granules and flakes) are fluidized by heating, and forced through the mold.
The MFR test is usually carried out at 190 ° C and under a load of 5 kg for polyethylene material. Parts are cut for the period determined according to the fluidity of the material.
